Mike Collier, CT

Hello, I’m Mike, a counselor trainee (CT) pursuing my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health at Cleveland State University. My undergraduate studies focused on leadership and counseling, laying a solid foundation for my passion in this field. I believe that sex and intimacy are fundamental aspects of our identity, serving as vital avenues for expression, fulfillment, and joy. and they often produce profound spiritual connections —so why limit such beauty? Unfortunately, unhealthy religious and societal norms often shame and judge those who wish to explore their intimacy or sexual experiences outside of conventional boundaries. These projections cause unhealthy and often stigmatizing ideas around sexuality and intimacy.

This was my reality for years as I tried to navigate assisting people as a religious leader. I recognized how religion often paved the way for silencing discussions about sexuality and intimacy, fostering shame that many individuals in our society grapple with. This realization inspired me to shift my focus, empowering me to support others in breaking free from unhealthy ideologies, fears, shame, and guilt that have been unfairly imposed upon them by religion, culture, or other influences.

I am passionate about working with individuals and couples from all backgrounds and beliefs to navigate complex issues related to sexuality and intimacy. During our time together, you will have a nonjudgemental and inclusive space to explore, examine, heal, and/ or expand your boundaries.
